Ranni the Witch

A candidate to bear the Elden Ring who instead chooses her own path -- her questline is tied to one of the game's major alternate endings and is widely considered the most significant character arc in the game.

Blaidd

A Half-Wolf knight created as both guardian and safeguard against Ranni, his own charge -- his loyalty to her conflicts directly with his original purpose, giving his arc real emotional weight. One of the few NPCs capable of fighting Starscourge Radahn.

Millicent

Found dying of Scarlet Rot in Caelid; can be cured and given a prosthetic sword arm, after which she becomes a capable ally and summonable NPC for several boss fights. Her questline explores whether she'll accept becoming something like the Rot Goddess Malenia or choose her own end.

Sorceress Sellen

A sorcery tutor found at the Waypoint Ruins in Limgrave -- teaches sorceries and can be summoned for certain boss fights during her own questline.

Hewg

A prisoner at Roundtable Hold forced to smith and upgrade the player's weapons -- has a quiet, unexplained connection to Queen Marika and cares for Roderika, whom he teaches Spirit Tuning.

Boc the Seamster

A Demi-Human who, unlike others of his kind, can actually speak -- his questline lets players alter the appearance of armor sets, including boss armor, at a Site of Grace.

Rogier

An early lore-bridge character at Roundtable Hold who helps connect the game's opening mysteries to its deeper truths about death and conspiracy in the Lands Between.
