Best Weapons in Elden Ring

Elden Ring has well over 300 weapons, so most builds will have multiple strong options -- but a handful stand out enough to be worth actively seeking.

Best early-game pick: Uchigatana, found in Deathtouched Catacombs (also the Samurai class starting weapon) -- its built-in bleed effect chunks down early bosses like Margit and Godrick, and it scales well enough to remain relevant late.

Best low-investment arcane option: Reduvia, a dagger found in Caelid Forsaken Ruins requiring just one Stonesword Key -- its ranged bleed-proc skill lets you apply status from a distance with minimal stat investment.

Best early sorcery option: Meteorite Staff in Caelid gives S-scaling sorcery damage at only 18 Intelligence, strong enough to clear all of Stormveil Castle -- though it cannot be upgraded, so plan to replace it by mid-game.

Best genuinely surprising early find: Morning Star, sitting in a wrecked carriage in the Weeping Peninsula -- 118 physical damage with strong innate bleed and very low stat requirements.

Best late-game/PvP powerhouse: Rivers of Blood, a Katana dropped by Bloody Finger Okina at the Church of Repose (Mountaintop of the Giants) -- its Corpse Piler skill was one of the most talked-about tools in the game on release for how effectively it applies bleed against even fast bosses.

Utility pick: Sacrificial Axe grants a small FP refund on every kill while equipped, regardless of which weapon actually landed the blow -- useful for sustained spellcasting or skill use across a long dungeon crawl.
