Chrono Odyssey Combat System Explained
Chrono Odyssey uses action-combat rather than traditional tab-targeting, closer to a Souls-like feel than a classic MMO.
Weapon Switching: each of the 6 classes can wield 3 different weapon types, but only 2 are equipped at once. You can swap between your two equipped weapons mid-combat on a 0.25 second cooldown, meaning loadout choice matters as much as class choice -- picking which 2 of your 3 available weapon types to bring shapes your entire playstyle.
No Auto-Lock Targeting: unlike traditional tab-target MMOs, there is no automatic enemy lock-on in combat, especially in PvP. This is a deliberate design choice that raises the skill ceiling -- expect a real learning curve if you are coming from a game with tab-targeting.
Combat Resources: each class draws on a different resource to fuel its abilities -- Rage, Vigor, Mana, Bloodlust, or Arrows depending on the class -- rather than a single universal resource shared across all classes.
Labyrinths: these are puzzle-filled dungeons layered into the world that require platforming skill and quick thinking to navigate, not just combat -- a distinct content type from standard dungeons.
The game is also built around time manipulation as a core mechanic, letting players alter aspects of combat and the game world using the Chronotector, though full combat implications are still being detailed as testing continues.
