Best Weapons in Black Myth: Wukong
Every weapon in Black Myth: Wukong is a staff-family weapon inspired by Sun Wukong’s own Ruyi Jingu Bang, but each is visually and mechanically distinct depending on which of the 3 Stances (Smash, Pillar, Thrust) you favor.
Jingubang is the single most iconic weapon in the game, taken directly from the source legend -- unlocked in Chapter 6 after defeating 4 specific bosses and visiting Water Curtain Cave. Its 4th Focus Point gauge never depletes, making it strong across nearly every playstyle.
Best early-mid game pick: Chitin Staff, a reliable 85-attack, 7% crit staff that can later evolve into a stronger end-game weapon.
Best Pillar Stance pick: Loongwreathe Staff, craftable after defeating the Red and Black Loongs -- boosts all Pillar Stance move damage, though weaker if you use other stances.
Best tank-build pick: Dark Iron Staff (Chapter 5 secret area, NG+) -- attack scales up based on your total Defense, so pairing it with high-defense armor lets you hit hard while staying durable.
Best status-synergy pick: Spider Celestial Staff -- heals on Charged Heavy Attacks and spreads Poison from your own attacks if you are poisoned, though this makes it inconsistent outside dedicated poison fights.
Several of the strongest staves (like the Adept Spine-Shooting Fuban Staff) are New Game+ exclusives, so your first playthrough weapon choices will be more limited than what the wider tier lists show.
