Fast Leveling in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Don't expect Edward to behave like a typical Assassin's Creed hero -- his selfish, fortune-driven motivations are a deliberate, central part of his character arc, not a flaw to look past.

Invest in upgrading the Jackdaw early rather than treating it as a side activity -- naval combat and exploration make up a substantial portion of the game's actual content, not just a means of getting between land-based missions.

If you're interested in the multiplayer modes (Artifact, Domination, Manhunt, Wanted), know these are entirely land-based -- there's no naval multiplayer component, despite how central ships are to the single-player experience.
